Nikolai Zherdev Trade Rumors

Trade rumors continue to surround the Philadelphia Flyers for the 2011 NHL season.  The Flyers are 1st in the Eastern Conference with 77 points.  With fowards like Mike Richards, Danny Briere, Jeff Carter and Claude Giroux, the team has the most goals for in the East with 182.  With a potent offence, the Flyers are expected to contend for the Stanley Cup again.

Nikolai Zherdev is struggling to find a role on the Flyers hockey team.  After being acquired from the KHL, Zherdev only has 19 points in 47 games played.  Zherdev has looked out of place and GM Holmgren is looking to trade him for prospects or picks.  Several NHL teams are looking to upgrade their top 6 forwards before the trade deadline and may take a chance on free agent Zherdev.
