Ilya Bryzgalov Trade Rumors
Trade rumors continue to surround the Phoenix Coyotes for the 2011 NHL offseason. Their star goaltender, Ilya Bryzgalov, led the Coyotes to the 6th playoff seed. Unfortunately, the Coyotes had to play the Detroit Red Wings in the post season. Bryzgalov's stellar regular season play declined rapidly in the playoffs. Goaltending was an issue for the Coyotes as they were swept by the Red Wings.
There is still no ownership group in Phoenix and there have been talks of the team moving back to Winnipeg. The 30 year old Russian free agent when asked about relocating to Winnipeg stated, "Not many people live there, not many Russian people there. Plus it's cold. There's no excitement except the hockey. No park, no entertaining for the families, for the kids. It's going to be tough life for your family."
Bryzgalov's poor playoff performance coupled with the fact there is no ownership group in Phoenix spells the end of him as a Coyote. The Anaheim Ducks, Philadelphia Flyers, and Tampa Bay Lightning are interested in acquiring Bryzgalov.
