2011 NHL Draft Projections
Here are more 2011 NHL Entry Draft Projections and Predictions. Last week I did predictions for the top 5 draft teams: Edmonton Oilers, Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers, New Jersey Devils and New York Islanders. Here are my projections for the next five teams, remembering that the Bruins traded for their draft pick:
6. The Ottawa Senators select Jonathan Huberdeau. The Senators have a bunch of defensive prospects in their system and are looking for that projected first line center in Huberdeau.
7. The Atlanta Thrashers select Ryan Strome. The Thrashers have their defensive corps set in stone with Enstrom and Byfuglien. Like the Senators, they are looking for that projected first or second line center in Strome.
8. The Colombus Blue Jackets select Ryan Murphy. For the 2011-2012 season, the Blue Jackets need to improve their defense. Murphy is projected to be a top defenseman that the Jackets desperately need.
9. The Boston Bruins select Duncan Siemens. The Bruins get to draft another great defenseman with the Toronto Maple Leafs' pick. Siemens and Tyler Seguin for Phil Kessel? I would give the edge to the Bruins on that trade. Hindsight is always 20/20.
10. The Minnesota Wild select Mika Zibanejad. The Wild need help in many areas. A projected top two line center from Sweden is just what they ordered come draft day.
