Hal Gill Signs 1 Year with Canadiens

The trade rumors concerning Hal Gill ended today when the Montreal Canadiens signed Gill to a 1 year deal. The contract is worth $2.25 million per year. The veteran defenseman is still a serviceable bottom pairing defenseman that has a positive impact in the locker room. It remains to be seen whether his speed can hold up for the Canadiens in the 2011-2012 NHL season, but I do like the term of one year.
