Who is the best rookie for the 2013-14 NHL season?
Here are my top four nominees:

Nathan MacKinnon - Colorado Avalanche
Ondrej Palat - Tampa Bay Lightning
Tyler Johnson - Tampa Bay Lightning
Torey Krug - Boston Bruins

All 3 forwards are leading rookies in goals and assists. Krug is leading rookie defensemen in points. It is going to be a close race between Nathan MacKinnon and Ondrej Palat. My prediction is that Nathan MacKinnon is going to win the 2014 Calder trophy as the league's best rookie.
