Notes: Nicklas Backstrom is an excellent playmaking center and with Alex Ovechkin on his wing, he is bound to rack up the assists. He is excited about the Washington Capitals offseason acquisitions and believes he can improve on his previous season. Backstrom became the subject of news headlines during the Winter Olympics in Sochi, when he tested positive for the presence of pseudoephedrine (PSE) in excess of the limit. He was suspended from competing for team Sweden in the final against Canada and ended up receiving a silver medal because he disclosed the medication in question.
