Buffalo Sabres Offer Mike Babcock a $50 Million Contract
According to a report from The Associated Press, Mike Babcock is in contract talks with Buffalo Sabres general manager Tim Murray. A person familiar with the contract talks said:
The negotiations were taking place by phone between Babcock and Sabres general manager Tim Murray on Tuesday afternoon. The Sabres are offering Babcock a contract worth $50 million.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the talks are private. There is a very real chance Babcock leaves the Detroit Red Wings after 10 years as head coach.
The Toronto Maple Leafs, St Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks have also been linked to Mike Babcock. A decision is expected on Wednesday.
