Senators Owner Saves Over 20 Lives with his Public Appeal
Many people were critical of Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk appealing to the public in hopes of finding a suitable donor for a liver transplant. Why should a rich owner of a NHL team be able to skip the line and get a transplant ahead of other poor people who need one?
On Thursday, the Senators announced his public appeal resulted in a life saving transplant for more than 20 other patients in need.
In a great twist, the potential donors who stepped forward for Mr. Melnyk decided to proceed as donors for others.
