Sharks and Blues Enter Mike Babcock Sweepstakes

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres were the only teams willing to part with the compensation to land the NHL's hottest coaching candidate. On Sunday, things changed when the St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks entered into the Mike Babcock sweepstakes.

Babcock spoke with Blues general manager Doug Armstrong while taking in the World Championship in Prague. He will meet with the Sharks before he makes his decision by May 20th.

At this point, there are 5 teams entered into the sweepstakes: Toronto Maple Leafs, Buffalo Sabres, St Louis Blues, San Jose Sharks and Detroit Red Wings.
