Arizona Coyotes Re-acquire Boyd Gordon
The Arizona Coyotes re-acquire Boyd Gordon from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Lauri Korpikoski. General manager Don Maloney said:
We are very pleased to re-acquire Boyd Gordon. Boyd is an excellent defensive centre who is one of the league's best in the faceoff circle. He has a great work ethic and will add experience and leadership to our dressing room. We are excited to have him back on our team.
Gordon played 123 games for the Coyotes from 2011 to 2013. Last season with Edmonton, Gordon scored 6 goals and 7 assists in 68 games. The Saskatoon native ranked 11th in the NHL with a 55.9% in the faceoff circle in 2014-15. On the other hand, Korpikoski had 6 goals and 21 points in 69 games for the Coyotes.
