Arizona Coyotes Receive Two Firm Offers for 3rd Overall Pick
Arizona Coyotes third overall pick may be moved before the NHL Draft on Friday. TSN's Bob McKenzie reported on Tuesday:
It is clear that Don Maloney, general manager of the Coyotes, has some important decisions to make. He can choose to take a player from the second best tier of players (Marner, Strome, or Hanifin), or opt out for a later pick but with additional assets coming his way. A trade package for Coyotes third overall pick includes NHL ready players, prospects and picks.
A potential trade partner for the Coyotes are teams already in the top 10. Possibly, the Toronto Maple Leafs or Carolina Hurricanes want to get their desired player from the tier above. It could be a team like the Philadelphia Flyers who may package their seventh overall pick along with other assets in order to get into that impressive second best group of players and draft a much needed forward prospect (Strome or Marner). It could also be the San Jose Sharks who lack a promising defence prospect (Hanifin).
