Free Agent Frenzy: Blackhawks Johnny Oduya
Johnny Oduya is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st and the Chicago Blackhawks are unable to re-sign him due to salary cap constraints. After winning their third Stanley Cup in six years, the Blackhawks are spending a large part of their cap space on stars Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews. The Blachawks have $65 million committed to 14 players for next season and still need to re-sign Brandon Saad and Marcus Kruger.
Oduya is not known for putting up many points but he can play big minutes, shutting down the opposition. The 33-year-old Swedish defenseman is one of the most experienced blueliners available for free agent frenzy on July 1, 2015.
