The Habs are sitting at the 26th overall position for the 2015 NHL draft in Florida. Since his first day in the office as the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Marc Bergevin always said he wanted to build his team through the draft. However, this year the Habs have very little ammunition with only 2 choices in the top 120 selections and only 5 picks total:
It is certain that I would like to have more choices, recalled Bergevin. There is always a price to pay at the trade deadline to improve your team. I don't have any regrets. Jeff Petry solidified our defence, now we count on a better second pair with Alexei Emelin. In addition, we managed to keep Jeff, a defenceman of only 27 years of age.
For Petry, the Canadiens traded their second and fourth round picks in this year's draft. Will the Canadiens trade an aging veteran to acquire more draft picks?
