New Jersey Devils Hire John Hynes as Head Coach
The New Jersey Devils have hired John Hynes as their new head coach. Hynes was previously coaching for the Pittsburgh Penguins AHL affiliate, Wilkes-Barre, where he was the winningest coach in team history, compiling a 231-126-27 record over his five seasons. He spent six years in total with the organization, the first of which was as an assistant coach.
Hynes is still under contract, therefore, the Devils owe the Penguins a compensatory draft pick for poaching him. He replaces Peter DeBoer, who was let go and hired by the San Jose Sharks.
Do you think this was a good hire?
