NY Rangers Rick Nash Trade Rumors

The New York Rangers are attempting to trade their top goal scorer Rick Nash. Several journalists, including Larry Brooks of the New York Post, have recently suggested that general manager Glen Sather is shopping Nash.

The left winger, who is 30 years old, earns $7.8 million per season. His contract expires in 2018. In three seasons in New York, Nash has accumulated 89 goals and 150 points in 188 games. According to Brooks, the St. Louis Blues coach Ken Hitchcock wants to acquire Nash:

for such an exchange to be logical for the Rangers [...] would need to have T.J. Oshie, Jaden Schwartz and Alexander Steen as part of the discussion regarding the players to get back.

The NY Rangers reached the Stanley Cup final of the Eastern Conference, losing in seven games against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Nash drew criticism for his lackluster playoff performance.
