Predators Cody Franson Wants to Sign with Maple Leafs or Canucks

Nashville Predators general manager David Poile acknowledged the widely held belief that defenseman Cody Franson will leave via 2015 NHL free agency. Franson is a useful defenseman in most situations, but the Predators are stacked with good defensemen and Franson appears to be the odd man out.

Franson was traded by the Maple Leafs to the Predators during the season. He wants to go back to Toronto via free agency now that Mike Babcock is head coach:

I definitely think it makes [Toronto] more interesting. Definitely, with Mr. Babcock going there, it's an exciting time for people in that organization and I think it makes it more intriguing to free agents for sure.
