Rumor: Blues Kevin Shattenkirk to Edmonton Oilers
Kevin Shattenkirk is being shopped by the St. Louis Blues. The St. Louis Post Dispatch reports:
Now, the Blues have put Shattenkirk in the mix, at least gauging interest in what the All-Star could bring, according to league sources and media reports that have cited Edmonton, Columbus and Philadelphia as possible partners.
The 26 year old defenseman is one of the NHL's best young puck moving blue liners, and comes with two years left on his contract at $4.25 million per season. Blue general manager Doug Armstrong traded forward T.J. Oshie today, and he is ready to pull the trigger on another move.
The Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers are in a bidding war over Shattenkirk. The Oilers are offering their 2016 first round draft pick in return for Kevin Shattenkirk.
