What the Lou Lamoriello hiring means for Toronto
The Toronto Maple Leafs have recently hired Lou Lamoriello as the team's General Manager. Lamoriello signed a 3 year deal with the Leafs, and after a slow news week this definitely shocked the NHL. Lamoriello was previously General Manager of the New Jersey Devils and resigned on May 4, 2015 but remained President.
Lamoriello brings experience, having won 3 Stanleys Cups with the Devils (1995, 2000, and 2003) and knows what it takes to win. Toronto already had a talented management/coaching group with the likes of Kyle Dubas, Brendan Shanahan, Mike Babcock, Brandon Pridham, and Mark Hunter before the addition, and now the Leafs have added another experienced figure to their management group.
