Ex-NHL Defenseman charged with assaulting his wife

Aaron Ward was arrested and charged with assault of his wife in North Carolina, after police were called to their home on Friday.

Ward became a hockey analyst with TSN after his 15 year career in the NHL as a defenseman. TSN issued this statement about his arrest:

We are aware of the situation and the very serious charges that have been laid against Aaron Ward. As a result, we can confirm he will not appear on-air until further notice.

Ward won three Stanley Cups during his career. Twice with the Detroit Red Wings and once with the Carolina Hurricanes.
