NHL Rumors: Star Swedish Goalie to NHL
SHL goaltender Joel Lassinantti may be headed to the NHL. At only 23 years of age, he captured the 2015-2016 SHL Goalie of the Year Award. He is on the radar of many teams, aiming to sign the SHL Star to an NHL contract, bringing him overseas to play this upcoming season.
Lassinantti's agent confirmed there is interest in his client, who posted a strong campaign in the 2015-2016 season with Lulea. He had a 22-11-0 record, a 1.95 GAA and .921 save percentage. Although he is only 5' 9" in height and below the average size of your typical NHL goaltender, this has not stopped him from excelling at the SHL level. Prior to his SHL success, he captured a silver medal at the 2013 World Juniors.
Lassinantii has shown what he is capable of and he could become a huge pick up to a NHL team this offseason.
