NHL Free Agency Rumors: Milan Lucic to Edmonton Oilers
Pending free agent Milan Lucic is still without a contract from the LA Kings, despite stating he would like to return to the Kings next season. Pierre LeBrun of ESPN says that Lucic may sign with the Edmonton Oilers this summer if the Kings don't re-sign him by July 1st.
I believe Lucic would be open and warm to the idea of an offer from his former GM, Peter Chiarelli, in Edmonton.
Edmonton is looking to trade forwards such as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jordan Eberle and Taylor Hall to acquire a top pairing defenseman. Lucic would be a suitable replacement for a forward the Oilers move.
The Vancouver Canucks are also poised to throw a big offer Lucic's way to acquire the power forward. Lucic has said he likes his hometown Canucks and his favorite NHL player was power forward Todd Bertuzzi.
