NHL Rumors: Brian Campbell to Chicago Blackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks are interested in upgrading their blue line and are targeting Brian Campbell. Campbell is an unrestricted free agent on July 1, and he has serious interest in returning to Chicago.
Miami Hearld's George Richards claims Campbell will sign with the Blackhawks. The 37 year old defenseman played 5 seasons for the Florida Panthers, after leaving the Blackhawks.
Campbell's family lives in the suburbs of Chicago during the offseason and he won a Stanley Cup with the Hawks back in 2010. He is willing to take less money for familiarity and another chance at a Cup.
Campbell is an excellent possession player who scored 31 points in 82 games last season. He is an upgrade to the Blackhawks defense and fits into the top 4.
