Toronto Maple Leafs trade goaltender to Anaheim Ducks
The Toronto Maple Leafs traded goaltender Jonathan Bernier to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2017 NHL draft.
Bernier struggled for three seasons with Toronto, sharing the net with James Reimer. In June when the Maple Leafs acquired starting goalie Frederik Andersen for a 30th overall pick in the 2016 draft, Bernier lost his starting job.
The 27 year old Bernier will be a backup goalie in Anaheim to John Gibson.
