Hit of the Year: Dmitry Orlov demolishes Matt Duchene

On Tuesday, Washington Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov gave an outstanding hip check to Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Duchene, which sent him flying in the air.



Duchene tried to go around Orlov with speed, but the Capitals defenseman went low and played the body. The Capitals broadcasters certainly enjoyed the play. As analyst Craig Laughlin said, he hadn't seen a hip check like that in 10 years. Duchene was not injured on the play, although he will never forget it.
