Monster Trade Rumor Out of Colorado
After the holiday trade freeze from December 19-27, the Colorado Avalanche are poised to make some big moves in 2017. Avalanche GM Joe Sakic may be considering to trade almost any player in an effort to rebuild.
There are rumors Matt Duchene and captain Gabriel Landeskog may be moved. The Avalanche would want a top four defenseman in return, or first round draft picks and prospects. The Avs could then rebuild around Nathan MacKinnon. Sakic is also looking to move veteran winger, Jarome Iginla, if they can find a buyer for his services.
Duchene has a $6 M cap hit. Landeskog has a $5.5 M cap hit and his no-trade clause doesn't kick in until 2018-19, so he can be traded anywhere without his permission. A big shakeup is on the horizon in Colorado.
