Breaking: Dallas Stars plane makes emergency landing after smoke detected in cockpit
The team plane for the Dallas Stars was forced to make an emergency landing at St. Louis Downtown Airport shortly after takeoff.
The Stars were in St. Louis after their game against the Blues on Saturday night. The plane took off from St. Louis Downtown Airport shortly before 12 PM Sunday, headed to Los Angeles. About five minutes into the flight, the airport fire department was alerted of an emergency after the crew reported smoke in the cockpit. There was never visible fire, just smoke and a burning smell. The plane landed safely at the airport.
The team is currently waiting for a second plane to arrive at St. Louis Downtown Airport to take them to LA. The Dallas Stars are scheduled to play the LA Kings on Monday night.
