Mike Ribeiro's career may be over due to alcohol relapse

The Nashville Predators gave Mike Ribeiro a chance to revive his NHL career this season. Ribeiro had struggled with drug and alcohol abuse throughout his life and was trying to put his addictions behind him.

It looked like he recovered until the Predators put Ribeiro on waivers because he was rumored to be a distraction in the locker room. The Predators then assigned him to AHL Milwaukee.

In the past, Ribeiro was accused of sexually assaulting his nanny soon after she had graduated from high school. The nanny did not immediately go to authorities because she was terrified.

NHL insider Richard Labbé reports Ribeiro's career may be over due to alcohol relapse. He is no longer a member of the Nashville Predators and has entered the NHL substance abuse program.
