NHL Free Agency Rumors: Patrick Sharp to Chicago Blackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks will likely sign UFA Patrick Sharp on July 1st, when the NHL free agent signing period begins. TSN's Bob McKenzie had this to report.
Don't be surprised if UFA Patrick Sharp returns home to Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow. CGY, amongst others, had substantial interest.

The 35-year-old only played 48 games for the Dallas Stars last season because he battled a concussion and hip injuries. He scored 8 goals and 18 points. Sharp will have to sign for cheap since the Blackhawks are over the NHL’s salary cap and are waiting to see whether they can put Marian Hossa on Long Term Injured Reserve.
This move isn't that surprising considering the Blackhawks have a history of reacquiring former players. They recently reacquired Brandon Saad earlier this month in exchange for Artemi Panarin. The Calgary Flames are also interested in signing Patrick Sharp.
