NHL Free Agency Rumors: Steve Mason to Winnipeg Jets

The Philadelphia Flyers were surrounded by a goaltending controversy all last season as both Steve Mason and Michal Neuvirth wanted to be in net for games. The controversy should come to an end soon.

According to Elliotte Friedman, Steve Mason should sign with the Winnipeg Jets, who have ample cap space. Mason is coming off a $4.1M cap hit contract, and he is looking for a similar deal.  The Jets have suffered from poor goaltending for years and would welcome a veteran goalie like Mason, who is seen as an upgrade.
