NHL Trade Rumors: 23 Teams Interested in Dion Phaneuf at full value

The Ottawa Senators revealed that Dion Phaneuf refused to waive his no-movement clause to be exposed in the expansion draft. Therefore, the Senators are trying to trade Phaneuf before the draft.

If Phaneuf is traded out of Ottawa, the club can protect defensemen Cody Ceci and Marc Methot from being exposed to the Las Vegas Golden Knights. The 32-year-old defenseman has a cap hit of $7M for 4 more years, which makes Phaneuf difficult to move.

Sens general manager Pierre Dorion said he has spoken to 23 teams about possible trades for Dion Phaneuf. Look for a trade within the next couple of days.
