NHL Trade Rumors: Vegas Golden Knights Close to Trading More Defensemen
The Vegas Golden Knights selected 30 players in the NHL’s first expansion draft since 2000. Some of these players will never play a game for the Golden Knights because they will be traded before the season starts.
Less than 24 hours after announcing Trevor van Riemsdyk as a member of the team, the Golden Knights traded the defenseman and a seventh-round pick to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for a second-round pick. There are more players likely to be moved.
The Dallas Stars are interested in defenseman Marc Methot, according to Bob McKenzie. The Toronto Maple Leafs are interested in defenseman Colin Miller, according to Lance Hornby. The Golden Knights are seeking second-round draft picks in return for their defensemen.
The Golden Knights selected 14 defensemen in the expansion draft so they can afford to trade more defensemen for draft picks.
