Alexander Radulov signs with Dallas Stars
Forward Alexander Radulov signed a five-year, $6.25M cap hit contract with the Dallas Stars. The Montreal Canadiens offered him the same contract according to reports, and Radulov chose to sign with Dallas instead.
Why did Radulov choose the Stars? The taxes are much less in Dallas in comparison to Montreal. This was likely a factor in Radulov's decision. However, Radulov says he didn't have any other options besides the Stars.

The Stars general manager, Jim Nill believes he added an important piece to his forwards.
Alexander is a dynamic playmaker with top-end speed and skill. To add a forward of this stature to our lineup makes our top-six as deep and talented as any group in this League.
Radulov can play top-line right wing with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. The 31-year-old scored 18 goals and 54 points in 76 games with the Montreal Canadiens. He finished second in points for the Canadiens behind Max Pacioretty. The Canadiens will certainly miss his offense.
