NHL Trade Rumors: John Tavares for Alex Galchenyuk

One of the greatest Islanders of all-time, Mike Bossy, said the New York Islanders should trade their superstar, John Tavares. This was a tough pill for Islander fans to swallow because Tavares is the best thing to happen to the franchise in the last 25 years.

The quote from Bossy was in French and translates to: “I heard that Galchenyuk was offered to the Islanders.”

Bossy also said that Tavares declined an $84 million extension. That's a contract, which works out to $10.5 million per season. Tavares is seeking $11.5 million per season.
