NHL Trade Rumors: Matt Duchene to New York Islanders
The Colorado Avalanche have yet to pull the trigger on a Matt Duchene trade. Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic's rumored asking price of an established young top four defenseman, a first-round pick, and a top prospect is too high, considering Duchene scored only 18 goals and 41 points last season.
Duchene said he was burnt out by last January after the reality set in his team was out of playoff contention. He found it difficult to play the remainder of the season. The New York Islanders, Nashville Predators, and Montreal Canadiens have shown interest in Matt Duchene.
Islanders general manager Garth Snow has several high draft picks, and he is interested in acquiring Matt Duchene when the price is lowered.
