NHL star doesn't show up for practice amidst monster trade rumors

NHL insiders speculated Matt Duchene would be traded prior to the trade deadline or at the entry draft. But the Colorado Avalanche did not trade their star forward, and now Duchene himself is fed up with the Avalanche.

Avalanche insider Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports that Duchene failed to show up for the first pre-training camp practice. Avs captain Gabriel Landeskog was at a loss for words when asked where his teammate was.

The Avalanche are expected to trade Duchene soon for a top 4 defenseman and a draft pick.
