BREAKING: Penguins and Red Wings pull off a trade!
The regular season is still young but that didn't stop Pittsburgh and Detroit from getting trades done.
The Detroit Red Wings acquire Scott Wilson and a 2018 third round pick from Pittsburgh in exchange for Riley Sheahan and a 2018 fifth round pick.
The Penguins have been searching for a 3rd line center for the majority of the off-season after the departure of Nick Bonino, and it looks like they found one.
At 25 years old, Sheahan was a former first round pick (21st overall) and has played 292 games in the NHL collecting 38 goals and 98 points in his career.
Heading back to Detroit is 25 year old Scott Wilson, a former seventh round pick (209th overall). He has played 106 games, collecting 13 goals and 32 points.
