Sean Avery slams Kovalchuk, Brodeur and Tortorella in new book
Sean Avery was one of the most controversial players in the NHL, and his new book lives up to his reputation. In his book, Avery shares a number of shocking stories about former New Jersey Devils forward Ilya Kovalchuk, former New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur, and his former head coach with the New York Rangers John Tortorella.
During his time in the NHL, Avery was ordered to anger management rehab for his "sloppy seconds" comment about Dion Phaneuf romancing former girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert. The most infamous incident was when Avery waved his stick like a crazy man in front of Martin Brodeur's face.
In his book, Avery calls Ilya Kovalchuk a soft Russian "who will never win because it's too hard." Avery calls Martin Brodeur a home-wrecking "dirtbag" who left his wife for her sister-in-law. Avery calls John Tortorella "a clown who was scared of the power I held with the Rangers."
Avery's book includes a shocking story of how some New York Rangers were high on ecstasy on the plane to teammate Derek Boogaard's funeral. What do you think about Sean Avery and his stories? Let us know in the comments below.
