Brawl breaks out between Flames and Red Wings
Things got heated between the Red Wings and the Calgary Flames Wedsnesday night in Detroit at the end of the third period.
Red Wings forward Luke Witkowski got into a fisticuff with Brett Kulak, Witkowski dominated Kulak with some punishing right hand punches which made Kulak fall to the ice. Even though Kulak was down, Witkowski decided to continue to rough up the poor player and the entire Flames' lineup didn't like it at all.
Kulak was being led off the ice by officials so Matthew Tkachuk of the Calgary Flames, known as a very good agitator decided to shoot the back of Witkowski's leg and that's when the brawl ensued. Both ends started a scrum including both goaltenders having at it.
Travis Hamonic of the Calgary Flames seemed to be worse for wear out of everyone as he fell into the Red Wings' bench with Anthony Mantha on top of him. Hamonic seemed bloodied when he finally got up.
Have a look as tensions tightened:
The Detroit Red Wings won the game 8-2 against the Calgary Flames and are now going 9-8-2 this season. The Flames are going 10-8-0 so far.
