BREAKING: Leafs Player Asks To Be Traded
The Toronto Maple Leafs are known to have a huge crop of prospects, but this player seems to have had enough with the short amount of ice-time he has received over the past two seasons. Josh Leivo has requested he be traded or inserted in the line-up by the February 26th NHL trade deadline, as reported by Sportsnet analyst, Nick Kypreos.
Leivo is in an unfortunate spot playing in only 25 games since the start of the 2016/2017 season and has seen limited ice-time in those tilts, averaging only 11:46. The highly skilled winger has proven to be effective in the number of games played, posting 13 points in his 25 games, but cannot find a home in the line-up.
The newly called up, Kasperi Kapanen seems to have surpassed Leivo on the depth chart, playing on the teams fourth line, which might have finally set-off the 24-year-old, Leivo.
Numerous teams should be lining up to have the likes of Leivo in their line-up, but the question is, will the Leafs get full value for him? The answer is no. The short amount of ice-time for Leivo has really diminished his trade value.
With the NHL trade deadline just around the corner, do you think Leivo will be inserted in the line-up or traded?
