It has finally happened. The first big trade to usher in the trade deadline this year.
The Ottawa Senators acquire F Nick Shore and F Marian Gaborik in exchange for F Nate Thompson and D Dion Phaneuf.
The Senators will retain 25% of Phaneuf's salary. More to come.
