BREAKING: Seven Player Trade Between Arizona and Chicago
We have another trade to announce, and this is quite an interesting move between the Blackhawks and Coyotes.
The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired Marcus Kruger, Mackenzie Entwistle, Jordan Maletta, Andrew Campbell, and a 5th round pick in 2019 from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Victor Hinostroza, Jordan Oesterle, and a 3rd round pick in 2019.
Additionally, the Coyotes take on the contract of now retired player Marian Hossa. Hossa has 3 years left on that contract with an AAV of 5.25 million per season.
The Blackhawks are now free from that contract, and gain a little bit more flexibility in terms of their salary cap situation. They may even be looking at acquiring one of the big-fish trade chips like Erik Karlsson, Jeff Skinner, or Max Pacioretty.
The Coyotes receive a very nice prospect in Hinostroza, and only need to take on salary for the next few years, which they likely weren't going to be using anyways.
