BREAKING: Tavares Signs a 7-Year deal!!
The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Tavares to a 7-year, 77 million dollar contraact (AAV 11M).
Tavares had just recently told the Islanders he would not be joining, and the only other team he was thinking of signing with was the San Jose Sharks.
It will be interesting who will take the 1st line centre position at the start of next season. But one thing is for sure, Matthews, Tavares, Kadri, and Gauthier will be an excellent centre core for the Maple Leafs next year. Assuming they can also re-sign WIlliam Nylander, Tavares will help fill the hole that James Van Riemsdyk and Tyler Bozak left after heading to Philadelphia and St Louis.
