BREAKING: William Karlsson Signs 1-Year Deal

Just before his arbitration hearing, the Golden Knights and William Karlsson have reached an agreement.
The contract is a 1 year, $5.25 million deal.

This is a good signing for both parties. It gives Vegas another year to see if Karlsson is the real deal, and it gives Karlsson a very nice payday in comparison to his last contract ($1 million AAV). Karlsson also maintains his arbitration rights this way.

Karlsson was mediocre during his time in Columbus, collecting 16 goals and 47 points over 165 games with the Blue Jackets. After being selected in the expansion draft, he came alive scoring 43 goals and 78 points in Vegas' inaugural season.
