BREAKING: Arizona Coyotes Announce Their Newest Captain
The Arizona Coyotes announced their new captain earlier today.
Coming as a surprise to... pretty much no one, the Coyotes announced that Oliver Ekman-Larsson will be the fourth captain in franchise history.
Ekman-Larsson was selected 6th overall in 2009,and has spent his entire career with the Coyotes.
In 576 total games, OEL has scored 102 goals and 290 points. He just recently signed an 8-year contract extension, so he isn't going anywhere for a while.
Since their transfer from Winnipeg, the Coyotes past captains include: Shane Doan, Teppo Numminen, and Keith Tkachuk.
Do you agree with this decision, or do you think someone else deserved it?
