BREAKING: Canadiens Announce Their New Captain
After trading Max Pacioretty to the Vegas Golden Knights, there was a lot of speculation on who the next captain of the Montreal Canadiens would be.
It was announced today that Shea Weber would be the 30th captain of the Montreal Canadiens. Paul Byron and Brendan Gallagher will serve as the alternate captains.
Many believed that Montreal would opt for the 27-year old Gallagher, but the more experienced Weber won over the Canadiens management.
Weber is currently injured and is not expected to be back until December, after undergoing knee surgery over the off-season.
