Benn fires back after Stars CEO calls him out

Things got ugly between Dallas Stars forwards Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin and Dallas Stars CEO Jim Lites after Lites called out both players as "Terrible" and "Fucking horseshit."

For those who've been living underneath a rock for the past two days, things in Dallas got pretty ugly after both upper management and ownership called out Dallas Stars' top players earlier this week. This comes after head coach Jim Montgomery called out the team stating that they were "fucking embarrassing."
They are fucking horseshit. I don't know how else to put it, Stars CEO Jim Lites stated describing Benn and Seguin. The team was ok. But [Tyler] Seguin and [Jamie] Benn were terrible. We are a stars-driven league, and our stars aren't getting it done. It's embarrassing, and no one writes it. Write it! Lites continued.
What is the most weird is the statements seemed to have been approved by the ownership, letting someone humiliate their own players in front of everyone.
These guys are not good enough. They're not good enough for me, they're not good enough for the owner, and certainly not for the general manager, who I can't speak for, but it's not good enough for the job he's done, Lites added. But we've had meeting after meeting. The accountability on the ice is not there. These guys were signed to big contracts because they were the third- and -sixth- leading scorers in the National Hockey League over the past five years. They get their money, we expect them to not be outplayed every game we play in. And if they were as good as they've been in the past we wouldn't be having this conversation.
After being asked what he thinks about the comments, Stars captain Jamie Benn had something to say himself to the CEO.
Yeah. I don't play for him. I play for every player in this room, the coaching staff. I come to the rink and, like I said, I am proud to be a Dallas Star and I am proud to go out every night and battle with these guys in games. I really put my teammates first.
Things can only get uglier from here on out, so, is Jim Lites' comments about his Star players accurate? What's your take on the matter?
