KRONWALLED! Niklas Kronwall absolutely destroys Anders Lee

Detroit Red Wings' defenseman, Niklas Kronwall, is well-known for his devastating hits. On Saturday, New York Islanders' forward Anders Lee got caught with his head down.

The game was delayed for roughly four minutes late in the first period after Lee was Kronwall-ed. Lee is 6-foot-3 and 231 pounds, has three inches and 40 pounds on Kronwall, but that didn't seem to deter Kronwall.



Lee finished the game, and had no issue with the hit.

I just got caught with my head down, the puck at my feet, and he just put a nice shoulder into me. That’s hockey.

The Red Wings' bench saw it as a clean hit, but it took the referees several minutes to decide not to call a penalty.

The hit fired up the Islanders. Josh Bailey swung his stick at Kronwall and knocked him down. Dylan Larkin came to the aid of his oldest teammate (37-years-old), and fought Bailey. The Islanders defeated the Red Wings 3 - 2.
