The reason Sergei Bobrovsky was benched

The incident that got Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky benched for a game has come to light.

When the Columbus Blue Jackets were playing the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, it wasn't going well for the team and the goaltender and Bobrovsky was pulled, he then proceeded to shower and dress instead of returning to the bench. The Blue Jackets lost 4-0 to the Bolts.

On Thursday, the Blue Jackets made a press conference by stating that Bobrovsky wouldn't play against the Nashville Predators. The organization gave very few details and Columbus GM Jarmo Kekalainen stated that "there are certain expectations and values that we have established for our players that define our culture."
Tuesday night against Tampa was a tough loss for everybody, so... it was emotional, Bobrosvky said, according to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic. We might play them in the playoffs. I let my emotions get to me when I shouldn't. So, yeah. We had the meeting with the team.
Soon to be an UFA, Bobrovsky has made no indication that his desire is to re-sign with the franchise this summer. When he was asked about his plans and if he'd entertain a return to Columbus earlier this season, all he said was "we'll see" and that he told management his intentions after the 2017-18 season so they "know everything"
