Video: Islanders fans completely disrespect John Tavares by throwing plastic snakes at him

John Tavares' long awaited return to Long Island to face his former team the NY Islanders was bound to be full of hostility from fans.

Before Thursday night's game at Nassau Coliseum, fans in attendance threw plastic snakes at him during warmups, referring to his new snake moniker. As he left the ice, a fan threw an Islanders jersey at him.

It's no surprise some Islanders fans are still bitter about Tavares leaving them as a free agent to play for his home team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
