Amazing Story: Red Wings prospect fights back against racial bullying by welcoming young boy to the team
Red Wings prospect Givani Smith welcomed a very special guest to his most recent home game, meet his new biggest fan Ty Cornett. Cornett an inspiring hockey star from the Detroit area has been subjected to racial bullying throughout his young playing career. Smith brought him into the Griffins family and made sure his time at the game was as special as can be.
Cornett's story as you may recall went viral after NHL superstar PK Subban heard about the bullying he was receiving and sent him this video to show his support.
The Griffins ended up on the losing end of Friday's game, however, team Cornett picked up the win. Givani Smith managed to score early in the game and it's believed made sure Cornett went home with the puck.
Last night Ty Cornett, a young Detroit hockey player who has been subjected to racial bullying, was invited by our own @givanismith24 for him and his family to come enjoy a Griffins game.
